Medly AI has successfully raised £1.7 million in a funding round led by Eka Ventures, with additional support from Ada Ventures. The investment will further the development of adaptive learning technology designed to enhance educational outcomes for students, regardless of financial background.

Established by medical professionals Paul and Kavi, Medly AI is built upon personal experiences of overcoming socioeconomic barriers in education. Kavi, raised on a council estate in Slough, secured a place at a grammar school through the 11+ exam. This pivotal moment shaped an academic journey that led to studying medicine at University College London (UCL). Despite academic success, financial limitations restricted access to private tutoring—an advantage available to many peers. Later, while working as a doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic, exposure to the health effects of socioeconomic disparities further reinforced a commitment to educational equity.

Paul, raised in Northolt within a first-generation immigrant family, frequently assisted non-English-speaking parents in navigating complex systems. Managing responsibilities such as translating official documents and handling financial matters from a young age cultivated resilience but also highlighted the challenges faced by students lacking adequate academic support. With determination and perseverance, a medical degree and a PhD in Neuroscience were completed, integrating advanced research into Medly AI’s approach.

Medly AI is dedicated to democratizing education by offering high-quality, personalized learning experiences to all students, irrespective of economic status. Since its introduction last year, over 10,000 students have improved GCSE scores through this innovative platform. Adaptive learning technology ensures individualized support, strengthening both weaknesses and existing skills.

Institutional collaborations include UCL, Innovate UK, Microsoft, and Google, which have collectively contributed £400,000 in operational funding. The additional £1.7 million investment from impact-focused venture funds, Eka Ventures and Ada Ventures, further supports the vision of transforming personalized learning at scale.
