Contributor Guidelines

The Top Voices publishes practical insights from people who build, fund, and grow startups and tech products. We welcome contributions grounded in real experience that help readers understand an issue or make a better decision.

We work with founders, investors, and other industry experts who have useful experiences and ideas to share.

These guidelines explain what we look for and how to submit your work.

Our Audience

Our readers include startup founders, product managers, tech professionals, investors, mentors, and people interested in the startup ecosystem.

They want clear writing, useful context, and ideas they can apply. Explain specialist terms and show how your insights connect to real situations.

What We Publish

We look for articles that explain why a development, decision, or approach matters. Practical how-to articles are welcome when they draw on experience and give readers useful context.

Share lessons from your successes and failures, original insights, useful frameworks, or thoughtful analysis of changing markets and technologies. Show readers what you learned and how they can use it.

Topics We Welcome

We welcome stories about startup and product growth, funding rounds, product launches, building and scaling products, emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain, leadership, company culture, sales, marketing, and fundraising.

Tone and Style

Write as if you are talking to a knowledgeable colleague. Be professional and approachable. Use short sentences and paragraphs, explain specialist terms, and support your points with data, examples, or reliable sources.

Author Credibility

You do not need to be well known to contribute. You do need relevant experience or expertise. Show it through examples, case studies, original data, or research that readers can check. Explain your role in the work you describe and link to your sources.

Include your name, current title, short biography, photo, and LinkedIn profile for your contributor profile.

Article Length

For in-depth articles, we suggest starting at 1,200 words. We also consider shorter pieces with a focused insight. Longer articles should earn their length with useful detail, advice, or analysis.

Editorial Review

Our contributors include guest experts, editors, in-house authors, and expert board members. You may be invited to contribute or send us a proposal. The editorial team or a relevant advisory board member reviews submissions and may ask for revisions.

You can also send relevant press releases, including funding announcements, for consideration. Sending a release does not guarantee coverage.

What We Do Not Publish as Editorial Contributions

We do not publish advertisements or self-promotional pieces as independent editorial contributions. We also turn down generic or repetitive writing and technical articles that do not explain their terms. Any separate commercial arrangement must be disclosed and handled under our Ethics and Editorial Independence policy.

Using Generative AI

You may use AI to brainstorm or help with the creative process, but we do not accept fully AI-written articles. You are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of your work. Check AI-assisted examples and references against reliable sources, and tell your editor if AI played a substantial role in preparing your submission.

Submission Process

Email your proposed topic or article to editorial@thetopvoices.com. Tell us why it matters to our readers and briefly explain your relevant experience.

We may ask you to revise your piece before making a final publication decision. Our team also decides which published articles to share across our other channels.
