Corrections Policy
We aim to get the facts right. When we make a mistake, we correct it and explain significant changes to readers. This policy sets out how to report an error and what happens next.
Report an Error
Email editorial@thetopvoices.com with the article link, the statement you believe is wrong, and evidence that helps us check it. If you or your organization are mentioned in a story, you can also send relevant factual information or a response.
Review Process
Our editorial team checks the evidence and decides whether the article needs a correction, clarification, or update. We may ask you, the author, or a source for more information. We aim to correct confirmed, important errors promptly, though complex issues may take longer to check.
Corrections
A correction fixes a factual error. If the error affects the substance of a story, we correct the text and add a dated note explaining what was wrong and what we changed.
We may fix minor spelling, grammar, or formatting errors without a note if they do not change the meaning.
Updates and Clarifications
An update adds information that became available after publication. A clarification makes incomplete or potentially misleading wording clearer. We label significant updates and clarifications where appropriate and show an updated date when we make a substantial change.
Removal and Retraction
We usually correct a story rather than remove it. We may remove or retract material if it is fundamentally unreliable or there is a compelling privacy, safety, or legal reason. Where possible and appropriate, we explain the decision to readers.
Editorial Responsibility
We assess requests on the facts. Disagreeing with an opinion or disliking coverage is not, by itself, a reason to change or remove a story. Our editorial team makes the final decision.
