WealthTech NAO has successfully raised €3.4 million in seed funding. The financing round was led by a family office of a Swiss private investor, reflecting the background of NAO's founder and CEO, Robin Binder. Other private investors and family offices also participated, along with existing supporters such as Zeitgeist X. The funding will accelerate the Berlin-based FinTech's mission to establish itself as the premier platform for private and alternative investments across Europe.
NAO Makes Alternative Investments Accessible
NAO's innovative co-investment model enables individuals to invest in alternative asset classes starting from just €1,000, all within a few clicks. This approach provides fully digital access to investments in areas like private equity, infrastructure, and hedge funds — previously reserved for institutional and high-net-worth investors. The company’s solution democratizes alternative investments, fostering sustainable and diversified wealth creation.
Robin Binder, NAO's founder and CEO, explains:
"Everyone should be able to invest in alternative asset classes such as private equity as easily as in shares or ETFs. That is why we have developed the first broker for private and alternative investments. The trust of our investors helps us to realize our vision. With the cash injection, we want to attract even more top asset managers as partners, expand our customer base internationally and use our technology to make a previously illiquid market liquid."
Industry Leaders Back NAO's Vision
Investor and FinTech expert Jakob Schreyer (orderbird), representing VC Zeitgeist X Ventures, shares his enthusiasm:
"Alternative investments are the bread-and-butter business of successful investors. NAO's approach of combining private market investing with the functionality and user experience of leading neobrokers is an ingenious and overdue idea. I am convinced that NAO's 'digital-first' approach will unleash a completely new potential in the generation of 'financial self-decision-makers.' The NAO team's track record to date is truly impressive. I am proud to have supported this pioneering work since the very beginning with Zeitgeist X and look forward to the next milestones."
Growth Plans and European Expansion
Since its entry into the German market in mid-2023 and subsequent launch in Austria in August 2024, NAO has gained several thousand customers, with an average investment of approximately €10,000 per user. The newly secured funding will be directed toward platform enhancements, product diversification, and customer acquisition. NAO also plans to expand into additional European markets.
Currently, users can access five asset classes provided by esteemed institutions such as FERI, UniCredit, UBS, and Vontobel. Furthermore, NAO has introduced B2B solutions for venture capital investments by collaborating with Chartered Investment, a leader in financial technology solutions.
With these developments, NAO continues to position itself as a transformative force in the private and alternative investment space.
