Key Takeaways:

  • Blue Health Intelligence raised €3.4M led by Knop Investments.
  • More than 2,000 health checks have been scheduled since launch.
  • Funding will support expansion in Europe and platform development.

Blue Health Intelligence, an Amsterdam-based preventive healthcare startup providing data-driven health checks and a digital health platform, has raised €3.4 million in funding led by Knop Investments. Entrepreneurs Jeroen Tas and Anna Nooshin also participated in the round.

The investment follows an earlier €1.1 million round and will support expansion across the Netherlands and international markets, alongside further development of the Blue Health Intelligence platform.

Expanding Preventive Health Checks

Blue Health Intelligence was founded by former Swapfiets and Tibber CCO Onno Huyghe and doctor and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck. The company offers a €299 health check covering cardiovascular health, metabolism, liver and kidney function through hundreds of data points, followed by a medical consultation and digital results through the Blue app.

More than 2,000 health checks have been scheduled since launch at the Amsterdam location. Partnerships include TrainMore, Hotel & Wellness Zuiver and Fosbury & Sons Amsterdam.

“Our participants receive comprehensive insight into their health and potential health risks within one hour,” says Leanne Verdonck, doctor and co-founder. “It is our goal to make a periodic health check as normal as a visit to the dentist.”

Targeting International Expansion

Blue Health Intelligence plans to use the new capital to expand services and enter additional European markets, with France and Italy identified as priority destinations. Paris and Milan are under consideration for the first international location, with a launch targeted for the first half of 2027.

Huyghe: “Italy and France are the most attractive destinations for us, although finding a suitable location can sometimes be a puzzle. Our own research shows that Paris and Milan certainly do not lag behind Amsterdam in terms of potential. We expect to be able to launch in one of those two cities in the first half of 2027. With this, we are further fulfilling our ambition to become the leading preventive health platform in Europe.”

The funding will also support product development and broader market expansion as Blue Health Intelligence scales the preventive healthcare model beyond Amsterdam.
