Copenhagen-based Claimlane has raised €5.6 million in Series A funding to develop AI agents for warranty claims and aftersales operations and expand its business in the United States. The round was backed by Verb Ventures, Skagerak Capital and Vendep Capital.
The company also acknowledged support from angel investors Mette Høi Davidsen, Nicolaj Reffstrup and Jesper Eiby, although it did not specify whether they participated in the new financing.
Led by CEO and co-founder Anders Sommer, Claimlane operates a platform that connects retailers, brands, suppliers, manufacturers and repair partners involved in resolving faulty-product claims. Its network now spans more than 20,000 retailers and brands, with customers including Skechers, Black Diamond, tonies and Hummel.
The investment comes as North America becomes Claimlane’s largest market for new customers in 2026. The company has teams in Copenhagen, London and Austin, where Sommer has relocated to oversee its US expansion.
Using AI to Manage Warranty Claims and Product Returns
Resolving a faulty-product claim often involves several businesses. Retailers must determine whether an item is covered by warranty, identify the responsible supplier or manufacturer, and coordinate repairs, replacements or refunds. These processes frequently involve separate email conversations, spreadsheets and customer service systems.
Claimlane brings these activities into a shared platform, allowing the parties involved to access claim information and coordinate the steps required for resolution. Its software connects product information, warranty terms, supplier agreements and case histories with operational workflows.
The company is now developing AI agents that can assess claims against each customer’s policies and supplier agreements. The agents are intended to support decisions and carry out tasks such as coordinating repairs or initiating replacements, refunds and credit notes through connected systems. Human involvement will remain part of cases requiring judgment.
Claimlane plans to develop more specialised capabilities for product categories including electronics, furniture and outdoor equipment, where warranty requirements and repair processes can vary considerably.
The platform is already used by international consumer brands. At outdoor equipment company Black Diamond, reducing manual claims work allowed the customer service team to develop a repair programme that generates revenue from paid repairs and sales of repaired products.
“Claimlane helped us turn our aftersales department from a cost center into a profit center,” said Tess Jordan, Senior Manager of Customer Experience at Black Diamond. “By reducing the manual work involved in handling claims, we freed up our team to build a repairs program that generates revenue through paid repairs and sales of repaired products.”
Series A to Support US Expansion and AI Development
Claimlane will use the €5.6 million investment to expand its US operations and develop AI agents tailored to the products, policies and workflows of individual customers.
North America has become the company’s largest source of new customers this year. According to Claimlane, US sales opportunities have increased 150% year on year, while the value of its newly created sales pipeline has doubled.
Sommer has moved to Austin to lead the next stage of expansion, working with the company’s existing teams in Copenhagen and London.
“The demand we’re seeing from US brands and retailers makes our next move clear: we’re investing in building a major business here,” said Anders Sommer, CEO and co-founder of Claimlane. “With this funding, we’ll continue building AI agents that learn and handle complex aftersales workflows across the supply chain.”
The round also includes continued support from Vendep Capital, which first invested in Claimlane in 2024. The firm previously led a €1.8 million financing round, according to its portfolio information.
Alexey Bulygin, Principal at Verb Ventures, said the firm’s investment thesis centres on AI businesses that combine specialised knowledge with the ability to operate within existing workflows.
Claimlane plans to deepen its AI capabilities while expanding its presence among US retailers and consumer brands. Its immediate development priorities include automating more of the claims resolution process and adapting its agents to the warranty requirements of different product categories.
