Terra Industries, a defense technology company developing autonomous security systems for critical infrastructure across the Global South, raised an additional $18 million, bringing the seed round to $52 million. Existing investors 8VC, Silent Ventures, Nova Global, Belief Capital, and SV Angel participated alongside Norleo Space Investments and angel investor Grant Gordon.
Scaling Autonomous Security Systems
Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra Industries develops autonomous systems for monitoring and protecting critical assets across land, air, and maritime environments. Deployments currently secure power plants, mines, and other infrastructure valued at approximately $11 billion across several African countries.
“Critical infrastructure across the Global South is best protected by systems designed for these environments and built in the regions they protect. This funding lets us scale that work and deepen our manufacturing base. It also puts us in the rooms where global defense decisions are made.” — Nathan Nwachuku, co-founder and CEO of Terra Industries.
Manufacturing and Global Expansion
The funding will support a new London office, expanded manufacturing, additional deployments, and team growth across engineering, operations, and business development. Terra’s 34,000-square-foot Pax-2 facility in Ghana is scheduled to open in Q4 2026, with planned annual production capacity of 50,000 aerial systems by 2028.
Building Sovereign Defense Infrastructure
Terra’s portfolio includes autonomous drones, interceptor drones, sentry towers, and unmanned ground vehicles connected through ArtemisOS. The proprietary platform supports real-time threat detection, autonomous mission planning, and coordinated responses across complex environments.
