Key Takeaways:

  • Octave.energy raised €10M in Series A funding.
  • The company combines battery storage with energy management software.
  • Funding will support European expansion and product development.

Octave.energy, a Belgian energy technology company combining Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with proprietary Energy Management System (EMS) software, has raised €10 million in Series A funding to accelerate European expansion and further develop energy storage technology. The round, combining equity and flexible debt financing, was led by existing investor SPDG Growth, with participation from imec.istart, BNP Paribas Fortis and KBC.

Expanding Energy Storage Across Europe

Octave.energy helps businesses manage grid congestion, electricity price volatility and growing electrification requirements. The integrated BESS and EMS platform enables companies to increase solar energy consumption, reduce demand peaks, manage EV charging and participate in energy markets.

The new capital will support local sales and operations teams in the Netherlands, France and Germany, alongside growth through installation partners. Projects are already operational in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain.

Building on Commercial Growth

Founded in 2020, Octave.energy has delivered more than 200 MWh of storage capacity to over 400 businesses, including Colruyt Group, McDonald's, Eneco, Naturgy and Nextensa. The company has remained profitable for three consecutive years and generated €16 million in revenue in 2025.

The Series A will also support further development of the EMS and asset management platforms, with a focus on maintaining battery performance throughout the full operating lifetime.

Scaling the Model

Originally focused on second-life battery storage, Octave.energy has expanded into an integrated energy management model combining battery technology, continuous monitoring and intelligent software. The new financing will support broader European deployment and continued product development for businesses seeking greater control over energy consumption and infrastructure.
