PUNTR has secured US$500,000 from Accretion Capital to build software that remembers each fan across every match, product, season and sport.
Formula 1 can measure Oscar Piastri's lap to the thousandth of a second. It still gives the same main feed to the fan who opened the race for him and the fan watching Max Verstappen. A golf broadcast can trace a ball through the air, then spend Sunday on three players while Cam Smith disappears from the screen.
Sport has become astonishingly intelligent about the event. The fan remains a stranger. Their interests are split across broadcasts, scores, fantasy, games and group chats, then reset at every app icon.
That contradiction sits behind PUNTR's new backing from Accretion Capital and a simple, enormous premise: global sport already has a real-time model of the game. The next great sports platform will build the missing model of the fan.
PUNTR calls what it is building the personal interface for global sport, one persistent system that learns how each fan watches, plays and experiences sport. That future begins in a less obvious place: a daily game built around live events.
The real world writes the game
A fan makes a skill-based selection around a real event. Live data resolves it as the action unfolds. The fan receives feedback, progresses and returns for the next moment. The world of sport supplies the game board and rewrites it every day.
Each selection does two jobs. It gives the fan a reason to care about the next live moment, and it gives PUNTR a deliberate signal about who and what that person follows, understands and values. PUNTR's Every Pick Pays system carries progression and rewards beyond a single result, so skill, consistency and return behavior can matter over time.
A selection can reveal athlete interest, confidence, knowledge, timing and how the fan responds when the event changes. Behavior across the game, data mode, companion, rewards and social features can add further context to one cross-sport profile. Live data explains the game. Participation begins to explain the person.
The match stays shared. Everything around it can change.
Broadcast solved reach. Streaming multiplied access. Both still place the event at the center and ask the fan to adapt. PUNTR is going after recognition: software that remembers the person from one session, product and sport to the next.
For the Piastri fan, that could eventually mean following his strategy while the main feed stays with Verstappen. For the Cam Smith fan, it could mean every shot that matters to them. Camera choice is the easiest example. Commentary can match the fan's level of knowledge. A companion can explain why the next play matters. Games can react to live action. Rewards, social challenges and the interface itself can change from one fan to the next.
Spotify remembers what you heard. Netflix remembers what you watched. Sport forgets who you are whenever you switch screens. Meta showed the economic power of understanding individuals at internet scale. PUNTR wants to create that continuity for the sports fan, using personal context to decide what the product presents and what it makes possible next.
The daily game is the first training ground for the wider interface. PUNTR can build the identity, live data, game, rewards, companion and interface layers directly. Personalized camera feeds and commentary are later layers that require rights and partnerships. The match stays universal. The world of software around it becomes personal.
The model gets harder to copy every time the fan returns
PUNTR's architecture is designed to bring two streams into the same decision: what is happening in sport now and what the system has learned about the fan over time. Live data can resolve a selection as play unfolds. Modern infrastructure can update the interface immediately. AI can interpret a growing history of behavior without forcing the fan to configure every preference by hand.
Earlier sports products were built when live data was harder to access, networks were slower and real-time personalization was impractical. Those constraints are collapsing. AI makes the system possible. A proprietary history of fan decisions connected to live sporting context makes it harder to copy. That history has to be earned, one interaction at a time.
The proof is retention. Each return must feel more relevant, and that relevance must earn the next return. If PUNTR can make that loop compound, the daily game becomes the entry point to a persistent interface across every sport, season and screen.
The team built its way into the room
Co-founder Brad Hunt is a former professional sprinter from Lennox Head, Australia, who leads PUNTR's engineering, AI, live data, product architecture and design. He is building for American sport from the other side of the world. Co-founder Robert Steer brings operations, planning and capital execution. The pair have worked together for six years, previously built HQX and are now building their second company together.
Junwei Ye is part of PUNTR's founding team and an investor. He co-founded ARB Interactive, whose products have entertained more than 30 million Americans and awarded more than US$1 billion in prizes. Kenny Fong, Business Performance Lead at VGW, is an investor and operating adviser. Their experience reaches into some of the world's largest consumer gaming operations, including reward systems, responsible operation and infrastructure built for millions of users.
Physical distance from Silicon Valley became a creative constraint. PUNTR mailed 100 custom basketballs into the US venture ecosystem. Investors shared them, and one appeared in John Coogan's hands on TBPN. The campaign earned attention. The product now has to earn habit.
The opportunity is larger than a smarter broadcast or a better game. Sport was produced once and broadcast to billions. PUNTR is building toward a world around sport produced billions of times, one for each fan. The match remains shared. The software around it finally knows whose screen it is on.
