syte, a German AI-powered platform for land and real estate analysis, has raised €9 million in funding to accelerate European expansion and further automate property development assessments. amberra, the venturing studio of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken Cooperative Financial Group, led the round, with NRW.BANK joining as a new investor. Existing investors including companies from the Schwarz Group, HTGF, vent.io and Vantage Value also participated.
Founded in 2021, syte combines property and land data with proprietary AI to assess development potential, building regulations and project viability. The platform serves project developers, banks and real estate professionals.
Automating Early Real Estate Planning
The new capital will support further automation of early project planning, covering development potential, building-code requirements and feasibility analysis. syte aims to reduce lengthy preliminary assessments and help customers identify viable projects before significant capital is committed.
“The way land and existing properties have been reviewed and appraised to date costs the real estate and financial sectors a great deal of time and money. Those who digitize their processes in this area will help determine what gets built in Germany and Europe in the future,” says Matthias Zühlke, CEO of syte. “With this new round of funding, we’re taking our technology to the next level: We’re continuing to consistently automate the planning phases and expanding syte beyond the German market into Europe. With amberra, we have a strong investor at our side who understands how crucial reliable data is in the real estate business and, at the same time, provides us with access to a network of hundreds of cooperative banks.”
Expanding AI-Powered Property Analysis
syte covers more than 62 million land parcels across Germany and serves over 200 customers across property valuation, planning and consulting. The platform can reduce property review processes from weeks to minutes, supporting decisions on construction, renovation and investment opportunities.
Annual Recurring Revenue has doubled year-on-year, while the new investment will support further technology development and expansion beyond Germany.
“The real estate business is of great strategic importance to the cooperative financial group. syte uses AI to identify the potential of properties and buildings at an early stage, enabling banks to provide faster, data-driven advice. The fact that several cooperative banks are already using the platform for real estate sales and customer consulting demonstrates its tangible benefits. We look forward to supporting syte on its growth path and systematically expanding our collaboration with the cooperative financial group.” - Björn Schmuck, CEO of amberra
