Madrid-based AI startup Talky has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding to develop its platform for automating corporate accounting and financial operations. The round included investments from HelloWorld, Silence VC and Motive Force, alongside angel investors Sebastián Gunningham, CEO of Remitly, Paul Golbaum, CEO of Lightbase, and Javier Morenés, an early investor in Onum. Other participating investors were not disclosed.
Founded in 2025 by Jorge Beamonte (CEO) and Maximilian Letón (COO), Talky develops AI technology that learns how companies manage their accounting processes and applies that knowledge to automate financial workflows. The startup targets large enterprises, business process outsourcing providers and consulting firms with substantial finance operations.
Automating Accounting Beyond Data Extraction
Corporate accounting involves more than extracting information from invoices and entering it into financial systems. Finance teams must often verify transactions against purchase orders, contracts, supplier histories and internal accounting policies. Much of the information needed to resolve unusual cases is spread across spreadsheets, emails, enterprise software and employees’ individual knowledge, making these processes difficult to automate using conventional rules-based tools.
Talky’s platform learns from a company’s historical accounting records and the decisions made by its finance team. It uses this information to identify accounting procedures, understand exceptions and automate recurring tasks, including invoice processing, tax checks and bank reconciliations. When the system encounters a case it cannot confidently resolve, it asks the appropriate employee for clarification, provides relevant context and suggests possible answers.
Once an employee resolves the question, the platform stores that information and applies it to similar situations in the future. Completed transactions are recorded in the company’s enterprise resource planning system, together with an explanation of the decision and the supporting information. This allows finance teams to review automated entries and maintain an audit trail.
According to Talky, its technology currently processes between 86% and 93% of accounting documents without human intervention. The company reports having handled more than 1.8 million documents representing over €2 billion in client spending. Its founders say new customers typically begin using the system in production within two to three weeks, following an initial period in which the AI learns their accounting procedures.
Funding to Support Product Development and International Growth
The €1.5 million pre-seed investment will support further development of Talky’s AI platform and technical infrastructure, alongside expansion of its team and work with existing enterprise customers. The company also plans to pursue international growth, building on demand from large businesses seeking to automate financial operations.
Talky currently has a team of nine employees, including software engineers and mathematics specialists. Its commercial focus is on large BPO providers, consulting firms and enterprises with sizeable finance departments, where accounting teams process high volumes of transactions and frequently encounter exceptions requiring manual review.
The funding brings together three venture capital firms and several individual investors with backgrounds in technology and financial services. Sebastián Gunningham serves as CEO of Remitly, while Paul Golbaum leads Lightbase. Javier Morenés was an early investor in Onum.
Beyond automating individual accounting tasks, Talky is developing its platform to capture the operational knowledge that finance teams accumulate over time. By recording how exceptions are resolved and applying those decisions to future transactions, the company aims to reduce repetitive manual work while giving finance departments greater visibility into their processes.
