Enabled Talent, an inclusive employment platform founded in Brampton, Ontario, has announced a major global expansion into Africa, powered by its selection as the only Canadian company in the UNICEF Startup Lab. The platform also unveiled TARA, an AI-powered voice companion designed to help individuals with vision loss navigate workplace environments through voice-enabled support.

The announcement was made at Brampton City Hall on October 23, 2025, with Hon. Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton, delivering the keynote address.

“Brampton is proud to be the launching ground for Enabled Talent — a platform that combines innovation with compassion and puts inclusion at the heart of workforce transformation. This global expansion, starting with Africa, showcases how our city’s Innovation District is supporting startups that turn potential into progress and create opportunities for all.”

Enabled Talent is scaling globally with support from BHive Brampton, and Invest Brampton, two anchor initiatives of the City of Brampton’s Innovation District. The platform unites job seekers with disabilities, employers, NGOs, and universities to make employment more equitable for over 1.3 billion people worldwide.

“The world’s most underutilized workforce deserves equal access to opportunity,” said Amandeep Singh, Founder of Enabled Talent. “We’re building one of the largest inclusive employment ecosystems globally and thanks to Brampton’s support, we’re taking it to the world.”

“Amandeep and his team showcase the strength and potential of Brampton’s innovation ecosystem,” said Vikram Khurana, CEO of BHive Brampton. “Enabled Talent’s journey from Brampton NEXT to global markets shows what’s possible when purpose meets perseverance”.

"Enabled Talent is helping shift the narrative from accommodation to opportunity,” said Eve Adams, Executive Director & President of the Board, Canadian Business Disability Inclusion Network (CBDIN). “When employers tap into disability-inclusive talent pipelines, they unlock innovation, resilience, and stronger business outcomes.”

“Enabled Talent highlights Brampton’s growing role as a hub for innovation and inclusive growth. Developed right here in our Innovation District, it shows how local creativity and purpose can address some of the world’s biggest challenges, like disability employment, while setting a global standard for inclusive technology” - Gurpartap Singh Toor, Regional Councillor, Wards 9 & 10; Chair, Economic Development, City of Brampton

The event featured a live demo of the platform, a panel on The Future of Inclusive Work, and insights from leaders across government, business, academia, and accessibility advocacy, including Lindsey Mazza, Councillor Rod Power, Mark & Valarie Wafer, Beatriz Zanatelli, and Chris Carder. Councillor Gurpartap Singh Toor delivered closing remarks on Brampton’s emerging role in scaling global accessibility-first solutions.

Enabled Talent’s AI voice assistant, TARA, supported by a grant from ElevenLabs, is scheduled to launch on World Disability Day, December 3, 2025, empowering individuals with vision loss to navigate their work environments using real-time voice guidance.

Enabled Africa Launch – Powered by UNICEF Startup Lab

As part of its expansion, Enabled Talent has been selected as the only Canadian company to join the UNICEF Startup Lab, a prestigious accelerator supporting mission-driven startups across emerging markets. Through this partnership, the company is launching Enabled Africa, a bold initiative to empower over 85 million people with disabilities across the continent.

Enabled Africa will begin with pilot programs in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria, introducing inclusive employment tools, AI-powered training programs, and accessible job pathways designed to unlock long-term opportunity. The initiative represents a five-year roadmap to expand into 24 African nations, positioning Enabled Talent as a global leader in inclusive workforce transformation.
