San Francisco-based AI infrastructure startup Daytona has raised $60 million in Series B funding at a $1 billion valuation to expand its cloud infrastructure for AI agents. The round was led by FirstMark Growth, with participation from strategic investors Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next and Okta Ventures, alongside new and existing investors. The financing brings Daytona’s total funding to $91 million.
The round also attracted angel investors including Patrick Collison of Stripe, Tobi Lütke of Shopify, Aravind Srinivas of Perplexity, Eric Yuan of Zoom, Olivier Pomel of Datadog, Adam D’Angelo of Quora and Brendan Foody of Mercor. Existing backers E2VC, Upfront Ventures, FirstMark Capital and Pace Capital continued their support, while Evergreen Fund, Alumni Ventures and Torch Capital joined as new investors.
Building Cloud Infrastructure for AI Agents
Founded in 2023 by Ivan Burazin, CEO, Vedran Jukić, CTO, and Goran Draganić, Chief Architect, Daytona develops infrastructure designed specifically for AI agents that need to execute code, interact with applications and complete tasks across different computing environments. The company initially focused on development environments for software engineers before shifting towards infrastructure for autonomous AI systems.
Daytona’s platform provides isolated computing environments, known as sandboxes, that agents can launch on demand to execute tasks securely. Unlike traditional cloud instances, these environments are designed to start in milliseconds, preserve their state when paused and create parallel copies to support different execution paths. The platform supports Linux, Windows, macOS and GPU environments, allowing agents to work across software development, browser automation and other computing tasks without requiring separate infrastructure providers.
The company is expanding this technology into what it calls the Agent Cloud, an execution layer that provides the computing resources, browsers and storage AI agents need to operate. The infrastructure is designed to support large numbers of agents running tasks simultaneously, including workflows that require persistent environments, repeated execution and parallel processing.
Funding to Support Growth and Agent Cloud Development
According to Daytona, its revenue has increased approximately 25-fold since January 2026, while average monthly net revenue retention has reached around 135%. The company serves customers across AI model development, training infrastructure and enterprise applications, including Meta, Cohere, Writer, Clay, n8n, Postman and Turing.
Daytona also reported growing demand for its infrastructure among companies building and deploying AI agents. Writer, which previously operated its own sandbox infrastructure, provisioned 300,000 sandboxes through Daytona in a single month, while AfterQuery migrated from its internally managed Google Kubernetes Engine infrastructure to Daytona in one day.
The new financing will support Daytona as it develops its Agent Cloud platform and expands its operations. The company is recruiting for engineering, go-to-market and operational roles in San Francisco as it works to scale its infrastructure for more complex and resource-intensive agent workloads.
With $91 million raised to date, Daytona is positioning its platform as an infrastructure layer for AI agents, providing the computing environments needed to execute tasks across operating systems and applications.
