Movandi, a leading semiconductor and systems innovator enabling next-generation wireless communications, announced a $40 million strategic funding round to accelerate global deployment of advanced connectivity infrastructure across 5G, satellite communications, and fixed wireless access.
The round was led by a $20 million investment from ITHCA Group, a sovereign-backed technology investment firm driving innovation throughout the MENA region. Additional backing came from Phaistos Investment Fund, VT Alliance, Murata, and existing investors such as Cota Capital, Celesta Capital, DNX Ventures, and Sierra Ventures, reflecting strong market confidence in Movandi’s mission to redefine intelligent connectivity.
“This is a pivotal inflection point in Movandi’s growth,” said Maryam Rofougaran, CEO and co-founder of Movandi. “We’re expanding beyond 5G into larger markets: satcom, fixed wireless, and AI-driven connectivity, powered by leveraging the world-class RF and mmWave technology and team. With ITHCA and our strategic investors, we’re creating a bridge between Silicon Valley and the Middle East that will enable Movandi to scale into new markets and regions.”
The funding supports expansion beyond mmWave leadership into three key areas:
- Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) using affordable 5G and Wi-Fi technologies
- Non-terrestrial satellite communications (Satcom) for global, low-latency coverage
- Next-generation RF systems enabling high-performance terrestrial networks
The ITHCA partnership also aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, focusing on the creation of a deep-tech ecosystem centered on AI, semiconductors, and intelligent connectivity. A new Movandi office in Oman will drive regional innovation, foster co-development, and collaborate with universities and research centers to nurture local expertise.
“Our investment in Movandi reflects Oman’s strategy to partner with global semiconductor leaders, growing Oman’s talent pool and leveraging our resources,” stated Said Al Mandhari, CEO of ITHCA Group. “Movandi’s proven leadership in scaling international teams, and innovation in wireless systems, satellite communications, and 5G are aligned with our vision for building AI-capable, connected societies.”
Movandi’s RF chipsets, beamforming silicon, phased array antennas, and repeater systems have redefined mmWave performance and cost efficiency. The same technology is now being applied to LEO satellite systems and hybrid fixed wireless deployments, enabling operators to overcome traditional limitations in cost, range, and latency for global broadband scalability.
With a strong commercial track record in powering 5G networks, Movandi continues to deliver compact, low-power, high-throughput solutions with intelligent beam steering, advancing the next phase of intelligent global connectivity infrastructure.
