SwiftConnect, a connected access technology company providing cloud-based physical access infrastructure, acquired HID’s Workforce Business Unit, including HID SAFE, a platform for automating physical identity lifecycle management. The acquisition combines SwiftConnect’s AccessCloud platform with HID SAFE’s governance capabilities to create a unified platform for managing physical access across buildings, campuses and enterprise portfolios.
Unifying Identity and Physical Access
The combined platform connects identity providers, mobile credentials and access control systems while automating access requests, approvals, policy enforcement and revocation based on changes across HR, IT and security systems. The integration helps organizations manage physical access through a single governance framework while improving compliance and reducing manual processes.

Accelerating Connected Access
The acquisition strengthens SwiftConnect’s cloud-based access network while providing HID SAFE customers with expanded infrastructure and continued platform development. Shane Butler, Executive Vice President of Identity, will lead the SAFE business and future development of physical access governance.
