Aligned Marketplace, a healthcare marketplace connecting self-insured employers with independent advanced and direct primary care providers, raised an additional $20 million in Series A funding led by Venrock. The investment will expand access to advanced primary care for employers and Third Party Administrators (TPAs) while supporting expansion into value-based specialty care.
Expanding Advanced Primary Care
Aligned Marketplace operates a network of more than 3,000 in-person clinics across all 50 states. The platform integrates with existing insurance carriers and TPAs, allowing employers to provide independent primary and specialty care without replacing existing benefits infrastructure.
“Employers continue to struggle with rising healthcare costs and poor access to primary care. Fortunately, better primary care lowers healthcare costs by making people healthier. Aligned Marketplace has built a national network of exceptional primary care providers who are super accessible to patients and deliver on the promise of making people healthier, which also lowers cost for employers and patients,” said Bob Kocher, Partner at Venrock.
Reducing Employer Healthcare Costs
A program launched with a Fortune 500 employer showed healthcare costs for engaged members at 12% below a risk-matched national benchmark, representing savings of $96 per member per month. Engaged members also recorded higher preventive-care utilization and strong satisfaction scores.
“Our mission is to increase America’s healthy years. Unfortunately, the healthcare system was built to treat illness and generate volume, not to keep people healthy, control costs for the employer who pays the bills, or let independent doctors practice the way they want. We’ve proven that a different model works — one where keeping people healthy actually saves money,” said Patrick Nelli, Founder and CEO of Aligned Marketplace.
Specialty Care Expansion
The Series A funding will help Aligned Marketplace reach more employers and TPAs while broadening the marketplace beyond primary care into value-based specialty care.
