Klang, a Swedish technology company developing AI solutions for transcribing, summarising and analysing conversations, has raised new funding to advance proprietary speech and language models and expand internationally. Klang currently generates SEK 20 million in annual recurring revenue.
The round was backed by existing shareholders and led by entrepreneur and technology investor Johan Lenander, alongside Refined founder Emil Sjödin, Position Green co-founder Daniel Gadd and other investors.
Developing AI for Real-Time Conversations
Klang is developing proprietary AI models designed to process conversations in real time with greater speed and accuracy. The long-term strategy centres on creating a searchable memory platform capable of understanding spoken information, context, nuance, dialects and connections between conversations.
"In a world where AI performs more and more tasks, human conversation becomes an increasingly important source of information. At the same time, today's technology for understanding conversations is still limited. Our vision is that what is said should never be lost. We want to create a perfect memory of every conversation - a memory that not only remembers what was said, but also understands the conversation as well as, or even better than, the people in the room," — Niklas Silfverström, CEO of Klang
Expanding Into International Markets
The new capital will support AI research, product development and expansion across the Nordics, Benelux, DACH region and Japan. Klang also plans around ten new hires across research, development and marketing while maintaining a small, capital-efficient team.
"AI is changing not only the product we build but also how we build the company. A small, technically strong team can today achieve what used to require a much larger organisation. Now we above all want to pick up the pace in research, product development and distribution,” — Niklas Silfverström, CEO of Klang
