Akamas, a leader in AI-driven cloud optimization, secured $10 million in its first institutional funding round. The investment, led by United Ventures, one of Italy’s largest venture capital firms, will drive expansion into the North American market, accelerate product development, and strengthen its position in full-stack optimization for cloud and Kubernetes environments. Parent company Moviri Group will retain a strategic minority stake while transferring operational control.

This funding milestone aligns with recent achievements, including a seven-figure contract and growing traction among North American enterprises. A new US office in Boston will serve as a base for scaling operations, with significant team expansion planned across engineering and go-to-market functions.

“We are thrilled about today’s investment, and our entry into the US is a major milestone for Akamas. The United States is home to some of the world’s largest cloud-driven organizations, and we are excited to bring our unique application-aware optimization technology to this dynamic market. United Ventures’ expertise in scaling SaaS and AI companies globally makes them the perfect partner as we expand our footprint and continue driving innovation,” said Luca Forni, CEO and Co-founder of Akamas.

Growth plans include increasing headcount from 10 to 35 employees within a year, focusing on engineering, sales, and marketing roles in both Italy and the US. The launch of new features will enhance Kubernetes optimization, introduce a SaaS version of the Akamas platform, and integrate with major cloud providers and observability tools such as AWS, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana Labs, and Google Cloud.

Akamas’ application-aware optimization ensures cost savings without sacrificing performance or reliability. Successful deployments across industries such as retail, financial services, travel, and telecommunications demonstrate the platform’s impact. Notable customers include Sisal, a leading European gaming company, and Sabre, a US-based travel technology giant. Industry leaders from Netflix and Dynatrace have endorsed its approach, while accolades such as the Unicredit StartLab Prize and the CIO Digital360 Award highlight its achievements.

Fabio Pirovano, Partner at United Ventures, emphasized, “We are proud to lead this round for Akamas, who are at the forefront of application-aware optimization technology. Akamas’ innovative approach to simplifying cloud and Kubernetes optimization, coupled with its impressive team and vision, positions it as a game-changer in the global tech landscape. We’re excited to support their expansion into North America and their continued growth as they redefine how organizations optimize performance, reliability, and costs at scale.”
