Alfa, an AI-driven recruitment startup, successfully raised over $625,000, reaching a $6 million valuation. Fuel Ventures led the funding round, joined by Davie Rowe (Sixty Six & Black Green), Pierre Decote (Revolut & Golden Square), Chris Adelsbach (Outrun Ventures), and multiple angel investors.
The world's first truly intelligent AI recruiter is under development at Alfa. The AI-powered agent streamlines hiring by instantly identifying, screening, and connecting employers with top-tier candidates. This technology serves as a co-pilot rather than a replacement, automating administrative recruitment tasks to allow hiring managers to focus on meaningful conversations with potential hires.
By eliminating gender and racial bias, AI-driven recruitment enhances diversity, equity, and inclusion. Underrepresented minorities gain greater access to opportunities, ensuring a fair hiring process.
Alfa was co-founded by Chief Executive Officer Alfie Whattam, Chief Technology Officer Ed Godshaw, and Chief Research Officer Dr. Linda Yu, PhD.
Alfie Whattam, CEO of Alfa, stated:
"Recruiting is broken. It's a slow and manual process, with extremely expensive hiring fees, and hundreds of unsuitable applications. Hiring managers are frustrated, and candidates are burnt out applying to job advert after job advert and then never hearing back. That’s why we have built Alfa. Our AI Agent is capable of millions of calls simultaneously, in any language, at 97% lower cost than a human.”
Mark Pearson, founder of Fuel Ventures, commented:
"At Fuel Ventures, we back founders who are solving real-world problems with cutting-edge technology, and Alfa is doing exactly that. Recruitment is long overdue for disruption, and Alfa’s AI-driven approach has the potential to revolutionise how businesses find and hire top talent. We’re excited to support Alfie and the team as they build the future of AI-powered hiring.”
