Fastbreak AI, the leading provider of AI-powered sports operations software, announced the completion of a $40 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Greycroft and GTMfund, with participation from major sports organizations including the NBA, NHL, and TMRW Sports, alongside professional athletes such as PGA Tour golfers Patrick Cantlay and Kurt Kitayama, and former NFL players Larry Fitzgerald Jr. and Luke Kuechly, as well as prominent venture capital and growth equity investors.

Fastbreak AI has become a global leader in sports scheduling solutions, delivering optimized fixtures for professional leagues such as the NBA, NHL, AFL, Serie A, and MLS, along with over 55 leagues worldwide. By producing balanced and efficient schedules that minimize travel while maximizing ticket sales and broadcast viewership, the company transforms scheduling into a strategic tool for revenue growth and fan engagement.

Over the past year, Fastbreak AI expanded into the amateur sports sector, collaborating with organizations such as USA Taekwondo and Lightning Basketball. The adoption of Fastbreak’s AI scheduling engine, originally designed for professional leagues, has accelerated due to its accessibility and efficiency for amateur and youth tournament organizers.

John Stewart, CEO of Fastbreak AI, stated, “We’ve shown what’s possible by setting a new standard of innovation in professional sports, and now we’re bringing that same momentum to amateur sports. This funding fuels our work across both levels of the game, accelerating innovation in pro sports while building the connected infrastructure youth sports has long needed. Our focus is on eliminating time spent on logistics to empower sports organizations to create amazing experiences for players, fans and families.

The company’s flagship amateur product, Fastbreak Compete, offers a comprehensive end-to-end platform for sports operations management. The system supports scheduling, registration, team travel, ticketing, communications, and on-site event execution, reducing costs and improving the experience for athletes and families.

John Elton, Partner at Greycroft, commented, “Fastbreak is advancing the operational infrastructure of the $55 billion youth sports industry. The company’s technology has already demonstrated strong utility and adoption within professional sports, improving efficiency and data-driven decision-making. We believe Fastbreak’s innovative platform positions it well to support youth tournament organizers and the athletes they serve — helping streamline event management and enhance the overall experience of competition.

Supported by a team of PhDs and AI engineers, Fastbreak AI continues to build a robust portfolio of intellectual property and expand its commercial reach. The Series A funding will accelerate product development for professional sports and strengthen the company’s investment in technology for youth and amateur markets.
