Medly AI, an AI-powered education platform providing personalized academic support and test preparation, has raised $8 million in Seed funding led by Felix Capital, with participation from Eka Ventures, Ada Ventures and angel investors. The funding will support growth in the UK and international expansion, making AI-powered tutoring accessible to more students.

Building Personalized AI Tutoring

Founded by UCL medicine graduates Paul Jung and Kavi Samra, Medly AI was created to widen access to high-quality private tutoring. The platform acts as a personal AI tutor, providing exam feedback, revision guidance and progress tracking through mobile and desktop experiences.

Medly combines seven large language models designed for specific educational tasks, including progress tracking, learning-style analysis and personalized feedback. Handwriting recognition also allows students to complete work using tablets and styluses. The platform published research benchmarking marking performance against human examiners and is conducting a randomized controlled trial with more than 1,000 UK students.

Growing Adoption and Student Outcomes

Medly AI serves 400,000 users in the UK, representing 7x year-over-year growth, while students exchange nearly one million messages with the platform daily. Among GCSE students using Medly last summer, 74% improved by at least one grade and 41% improved by two or more grades in May 2025 exams.

Expanding Access to AI-Powered Education

Medly AI was selected for the UK Department for Education’s AI Tutoring Programme in July 2026, alongside companies including Pearson and ElevenLabs. The initiative focuses on improving academic outcomes for disadvantaged students across the UK.

The $8 million financing will support continued product development, UK growth and international expansion, with a focus on providing affordable personalized academic support to a broader student population.
