Mirelo, an AI-powered audio technology company transforming how sound is created and experienced in videos and games, announced a $41 million seed round co-led by Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Atlantic.vc and TriplePoint Capital. The funding marks a major milestone in Mirelo’s mission to address the gap in audio creation, enabling high-quality sound design that scales alongside generative video.
Mirelo was founded out of a deep passion for sound and music, combined with frustration over audio being overlooked in creative workflows while language and visual models advanced rapidly. As video production scales, audio increasingly becomes the bottleneck, and default audio solutions often fail to meet creative intent. “Sound shapes at least half of how video is experienced, so it deserves tools built with the same depth and ambition as visual models,” said the company’s founders. Mirelo’s platform empowers creators to generate fully synchronized, expressive soundscapes for video, from first drafts to professional-quality outputs.
The company’s video-to-audio AI model allows any video to be uploaded and paired instantly with high-quality, perfectly synchronized sound effects. The platform enables creators to add tension, modify tone, explore alternatives, and maintain consistency across projects, making sound design accessible to everyone while giving professionals deeper control. “AI could transform sound design for video, not by replacing creators, but making high-quality sound design accessible to anyone, while unlocking deeper control for professionals,” the founders said.
Mirelo’s long-term vision is to become the audio layer for all visual content, spanning video, gaming, social media, and film. The company plans to use the new funding to expand product development, refine AI models, and scale adoption among creators worldwide, driving more emotion and impact in audiovisual content.
