Multifactor, a public benefit company focused on securing digital identity in the AI era, announced the close of a $15M seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners with participation from Y Combinator, Taurus Ventures, Honeystone Ventures, Flex Capital, Pioneer Fund, Ritual Capital, Liquid2 Ventures, and prominent operators including Mohan & Padma Warrior, Gokul Rajaram, and Mathilde Collin. The funding will accelerate development of Multifactor’s core technologies, expand APIs and enterprise controls, and grow a world-class research and engineering team.

Multifactor was founded to address a critical gap in online security: legacy identity systems and passwords cannot safely support collaboration with AI agents or modern digital workflows. The platform brings mathematically provable guarantees to everyday accounts, enabling secure sharing of access without exposing credentials, whether the collaborator is human or AI.

The company emphasizes a science-driven, transparent culture, publishing research, contributing to open source, and holding itself accountable to first principles. Multifactor’s approach ensures that identity becomes a reliable defense rather than a vulnerability, advancing zero-trust security for government, enterprise, and consumer systems.
