WorkHero, an office management automation platform for small HVAC businesses, announced a $5 million seed funding round led by Navitas Capital, with participation from York IE, Workshop Ventures, and several strategic angel investors, including a former ServiceTitan executive.
Small HVAC businesses represent 85% of the industry, with most operators managing under 20 employees. Despite their essential role in providing comfort, jobs, and clean energy solutions, these companies face a major administrative burden. Over 80,000 small HVAC businesses in the U.S. spend more than 20 hours weekly on tasks such as invoicing, permitting, rebates, and warranty claims.
WorkHero eliminates this workload through AI-driven automation and expert oversight.
“Small business owners need a partner that handles the work for them,” said Furman Kyler, co-founder of WorkHero. The platform uses AI agents and industry specialists to perform back-office tasks — such as invoice generation, rebate submission, and pricebook updates — without requiring contractor involvement.
Customer examples show measurable results: ABL Comfort Solutions automated 75% of administrative work, enabling consistent invoicing and greater operational freedom. Pinnacle Building Performance gained time to expand the team after automation of rebate workflows and equipment registrations.
The new capital will accelerate engineering and product expansion, including recruitment of a CTO and the addition of bookkeeping and call-answering services. WorkHero aims to provide comprehensive back-office coverage for HVAC businesses too small to afford full-time administrative staff.
“At WorkHero, the mission is to keep HVAC local,” said the company team. The platform aims to give independent contractors enterprise-grade efficiency, supporting sustainable business growth and stronger community service.
