Almetra, a Berlin-based manufacturing intelligence company developing AI solutions for factory performance optimization, has raised $19 million in Series A funding led by blisce/, with participation from NAP, Merantix Capital, Robin Capital, Underline, Critical Ventures, and business angels. The investment will support expansion into the U.S. and further development of the company's AI platform.
AI for Manufacturing Optimization
Almetra helps manufacturers identify the root causes of production inefficiencies rather than simply reporting performance issues. The platform combines AI-powered cameras, machine data, IT systems, and operational knowledge to provide real-time insights and recommendations that improve factory productivity.
"Factories make everything around us, yet most of them are essentially running blind. Plant teams know they are losing capacity, but not where or why. We give them certainty instead of guesswork. Most of our customers find significant optimization opportunities within the first few weeks, and that is exactly the speed this industry needs right now," says Maximilian Fischer, Co-founder and CEO of Almetra.
Expanding the Platform
Founded in 2022, Almetra serves manufacturers including Bosch, Siemens Energy, and ABB. The platform processes production data locally using AI-powered cameras while protecting worker privacy through built-in anonymization. The company is also expanding into robotics and advanced industrial automation through collaborations with programs from Google DeepMind, AWS, NVIDIA, and MassRobotics.
"We had been running lean initiatives for years and believed we had a solid understanding of our processes. What Almetra added was continuous visibility into what was actually happening on the shopfloor. Within just a few weeks, we increased output by 19%, and the results have given us the confidence to expand the solution across the plant," says Oliver Medina Castro, VP Manufacturing at eBike Systems.
Supporting International Growth
The new funding will accelerate product development, strengthen international expansion, and help manufacturers improve production efficiency through AI-driven operational intelligence.
