Key Takeaways:

  • Raised $5M to commercialize extraction technology.
  • Recovers critical minerals from industrial brines.
  • Supports domestic mineral supply chains.

Altillion, a technology company developing mineral extraction solutions for industrial brines, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by EIC Rose Rock and Flathead Forge. The investment will accelerate commercialization of the company's proprietary IRIS and ALIX technologies, which recover valuable minerals from oilfield produced water, geothermal brines, and salars.

Turning Wastewater into Critical Resources

Altillion’s technology enables operators to extract minerals such as lithium, iodine, copper, bromine, and magnesium directly from wastewater streams without disrupting existing operations. The approach helps companies generate new revenue, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen domestic supplies of critical minerals without building new extraction infrastructure.

Alongside the funding announcement, the company introduced a refreshed brand identity and a redesigned website to reflect its focus on commercial-scale mineral recovery.

Altillion’s efficient and scalable technologies are needed more than ever to reshape critical mineral recovery and facilitate beneficial use of oilfield brines. We’re uniquely positioned to provide a stable, domestic supply of the critical minerals needed for electronics, batteries, healthcare and national defense technologies. This investment from EIC Rose Rock and Flathead Forge enables us to strategically accelerate this impact and is very timely given the current geopolitical dynamics,” said Jay Keener, CEO of Altillion.

Investor Support

Investors highlighted the company's ability to transform industrial wastewater into a valuable source of critical minerals while supporting energy security and supply chain resilience.

We are excited to partner with Altillion to scale and deploy these world-class technologies to access the vast wealth hidden in wastewater,” said David Clouse, Managing Director of EIC Rose Rock.

Altillion sits right at the intersection of water and critical resources, which is exactly where we focus. The hardest step in hard-tech is moving from a proven concept to commercial scale, and this is a team built to make that leap. We’re proud to back their work turning wastewater and brines from a liability into a reliable domestic source of critical minerals,” said Doug Lee, Managing Director of Flathead Forge.
