August Robotics, a robotics automation company focused on construction and industrial workflows, has raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by Big Pi Ventures. Existing investors Blackbird, Skip Capital, Tanarra and Future Family Office joined the round alongside GS Futures. The funding will support expansion of the company’s AI-driven robotics platform and global operations.
AI-Powered Robotics for Construction Sites
Founded in 2017, August Robotics develops autonomous robot fleets designed to automate high-precision construction tasks. The company’s platform combines robotics, AI, fleet management and real-time error correction to automate complex workflows across large construction environments.
The latest product line focuses on autonomous downward-drilling robots for prefabricated construction sites and AI data center projects. Developed in partnership with DEWALT, the robots are already operating across hyperscale construction projects in the US and Europe.
Expanding Global Robotics Operations
August Robotics previously launched Lionel, an autonomous floor-marking robot platform used in exhibitions and large indoor venues. The company says the system has marked more than 300 million square feet globally across clients on five continents.
The new investment will help scale production, strengthen AI capabilities and support expansion across the company’s global hubs in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, including new operations in Athens and Melbourne.
“August Robotics is proud to announce this capital raise, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support of Big Pi, Blackbird, and our broader investor community. In recent months, our drilling robots have fundamentally changed what is possible in data center construction, compressing construction schedules and helping our customers to bring critical infrastructure online faster than ever before. With this Series B funding, we will expand into new markets and geographies, continue scaling our AI and robotics platform, and accelerate the development of the next generation of robots that automate dirty, dangerous, and dull tasks across the economy.” – Alex Wyatt, Founder and CEO of August Robotics
