  • Company develops automated PCB assembly infrastructure through its Grid system.
  • Funding will support factory expansion in the US and Europe.

CircuitHub, a hardware manufacturing company building automated PCB assembly infrastructure, has raised $28 million in funding led by Plural and Sten Tamkivi. The new round brings the company’s total funding to $48 million and will support expansion of manufacturing capacity in the US and Europe through 2027.

Founded in 2012, CircuitHub started as an online platform for PCB assembly quoting and production. Over time, the company shifted focus toward building fully automated electronics manufacturing systems designed to reduce production costs and accelerate hardware prototyping.

Building an AI-Driven PCBA Factory

At the center of CircuitHub’s operations is Grid, a factory-scale robotics system designed to automate PCB assembly workflows. The company says the platform enables rapid prototype manufacturing with lead times of two to three days while maintaining lower operational costs through automation and remote operations.

CircuitHub reports more than 2 million boards shipped, 133 million parts placed and over 20,000 engineers served globally.

Expanding Manufacturing Beyond China

The company says growing pressure on global electronics supply chains and dependence on overseas manufacturing created demand for more scalable and localized production systems.

CircuitHub’s automated manufacturing model reduces reliance on labor-intensive assembly by combining robotics, teleoperation and increasing AI-driven automation.

Scaling Operations in the US and Europe

The new funding will help expand the company’s Massachusetts factory, strengthen European operations and continue development of the Grid manufacturing platform.
