Key Takeaways:

  • $26M Series A to scale flexible power and microgrid deployments
  • Reduces grid connection timelines from years to weeks
  • Strong traction across airports, EV infrastructure, and industrial projects

Critical Loop, an industrial power solutions company delivering flexible grid and microgrid infrastructure, announced a $26 million Series A round led by Conifer Infrastructure Partners and Hanover. Additional investors include Better Ventures, Climate Capital, Adapt Nation Capital, and Cyrus Ventures, bringing total funding to $49 million. Capital will accelerate deployments and partnerships, including projects with San Diego International Airport and a battery supply agreement with LG Energy Solution Vertech.

Accelerating Time-to-Power

Critical Loop addresses long grid connection delays by combining battery storage, generation, and its Cygnus software-defined power controller into a deployable system. The platform reduces connection timelines from years to weeks, enabling businesses and utilities to scale operations without waiting for permanent infrastructure upgrades.

"In just a couple of years, we've built a software and hardware stack that has the potential to accelerate time to power from years to days, and with this team, we believe we can keep doing things that were previously considered impossible," said Bala Ramamurthy, Co-Founder and CEO, Critical Loop. "The caliber of people we have attracted makes me confident about what we'll build next."

Scalable Power Infrastructure

The company’s CLB-5100 system delivers a modular 1 MW battery solution that integrates with on-site generation and existing grid systems. The platform supports industries facing rising energy demand, including AI data centers, manufacturing, and EV infrastructure, while enabling flexible deployment where grid capacity is limited.

Real-World Deployments

Critical Loop has deployed solutions across multiple projects, including airport energy optimization, EV charging infrastructure, and rapid-response microgrid installations. The company operates across California with plans to expand into additional regions facing grid constraints.
