Greenjets, a British aerospace technology company developing propulsion systems, aircraft platforms and launch technologies for next-generation aviation, raised $40 million in Series A funding led by Blossom Capital. NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF), Tanglin Ventures, NSFO Family Office and other investors also participated.
Scaling Aerospace and Defence Production
The funding follows Greenjets’ selection by the UK Ministry of Defence as one of three companies developing a low-cost drone interceptor under the Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors (LCADE) programme. Demonstration trials are planned for later this year. Greenjets combines propulsion, aircraft and launch technologies through a shared technology platform designed for rapid development and large-scale production.
Co-Founders of Greenjets, Anmol Manohar, CEO, and Guido Monterzino, CTO, commented:
“When we founded Greenjets, our ambition was to develop the technologies that would shape the future of aviation. The conflict in Ukraine has reinforced just how important those same technologies are in protecting lives, strengthening Europe’s resilience and enabling the future of flight. We believe building affordable defensive capability is a necessary response to today’s realities, and a natural extension of our mission to advance aviation.”
Expanding Production and Global Reach
Greenjets has expanded UK facilities from 12,000 to nearly 70,000 square feet and plans to grow from 160 to more than 250 employees. Series A funding will support production of thousands of systems over the next 12 months, accelerate development across propulsion, aircraft and launch technologies, and expand operations beyond the UK and Germany into India, the Middle East and the United States.
