HUMMELNEST Accelerator 2026

Article hero image

HUMMELNEST is a startup accelerator created by Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, positioned as a “startup hive” focused on highly individualized founder support. The program is currently collecting early applications for its 2026 batch

The accelerator is designed for founders at different stages: first-time founders, teams already building traction, and entrepreneurs coming out of previous startup attempts who are looking to form a new team or direction.

Each batch selects five startups, with a strong emphasis on personal support, partner access, and business development inside the DACH region.

What the program offers

Selected teams receive individualized support across business development, team growth, internationalisation, and green transformation, while being directly connected to relevant corporate and SME partners.

All five startups in each batch are eligible for a potential €50,000 investment from Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, based on progress during the program.

The accelerator states that the program itself takes no equity. Equity applies only if a startup receives the Raiffeisen-Landesbank investment.

Startups also receive mentoring through specialised leadership and team development workshops, alongside structured business support.

The program is hosted at Unicorn Graz – Start-Up & Innovation Hub, located in Graz, Austria.

Regional focus

HUMMELNEST places strong emphasis on business entry into the DACH region, providing access to regional and global networks.

Alongside the main cohort, the program also supports an additional group of five startups from Styria, referred to as “Local Superheroes,” focused on helping local teams build strong business foundations.

Who runs the accelerator

The accelerator was created after two previous startup batches run with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark. The bank’s team is directly involved in the program, supporting startups with connections, regional access, and ongoing engagement throughout the process.

HUMMELNEST is also supported by the Transformation Lighthouse team, which brings experience in building globally connected accelerators, startup communities, and new ventures, alongside a network of mentors, coaches, and investors.
