Kaiko Systems, a leader in AI-driven frontline intelligence for the maritime industry, has secured a €6 million Series A funding round led by Hi inov and Flashpoint Venture Growth, with continued support from Motion Ventures. This latest investment increases total external financing to €9 million, including the 2022 seed round.
The new capital will accelerate expansion into new markets, enhance product development with advanced AI capabilities, and reinforce contributions to safety, compliance, and efficiency across asset-heavy industries. Resilient and efficient operations have gained importance as geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions highlight vulnerabilities in maritime logistics. Real-time operational intelligence and predictive maintenance play a crucial role in ensuring continuity.
A mobile-first platform developed by Kaiko Systems addresses these challenges by streamlining safety inspections, optimizing maintenance workflows, and reducing compliance risks through AI-powered data analysis. Leading maritime operators, including OSM Thome, Reederei F. Laeisz, TMS Cardiff Gas, and Columbia Shipmanagement, utilize this technology to manage fleet-wide technical operations more effectively.
"The maritime industry is under immense pressure to modernise amidst global uncertainties and operational challenges," said Fabian Fussek, Co-Founder & CEO of Kaiko Systems. "This funding allows us to enhance our AI-driven capabilities, expand into new geographies, and equip technical teams with the tools to operate more safely and efficiently."
One of fleet management’s most time-consuming tasks — reviewing extensive asset health data, crew performance, and operational risks — is automated through Kaiko Systems. AI-driven analysis of thousands of inspection photos and crew reports identifies anomalies, enabling proactive maintenance and minimizing downtime. Real-time insights support operational optimization, cost reduction, compliance assurance, and prevention of unplanned downtime, which can exceed $50,000 per day per vessel.
With a strong foundation in maritime, Kaiko Systems is exploring applications of its frontline intelligence platform in other regulated industries, including offshore energy, infrastructure maintenance, and industrial inspections. An international team of 30 tech and maritime experts, based in Berlin, London, and soon Singapore, has identified significant potential in sectors where real-time data-driven decision-making is essential for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
