Linkup announces the successful completion of a €3 million funding round. At the core of the mission is the belief that artificial intelligence can achieve unprecedented levels of intelligence, comparable to Nobel Prize-worthy breakthroughs. For this to become reality, AIs must interact seamlessly with the world, with the internet serving as the key gateway. However, current web navigation methods are designed for human use, limiting AI’s potential to operate autonomously.

Currently, most AI systems rely on mimicking human behavior to navigate the web, using SEO-driven search engines, web scraping, or Visual Language Models. These methods are not only inefficient but also threaten the integrity of the internet by failing to compensate content creators for their work. To address this, new solutions are being developed to redefine how AI interacts with online content.

Linkup has created APIs that allow AIs to search, access, and interact with web data in an efficient, reliable, and ethical manner. This approach provides an alternative to traditional scraping methods, fostering a more sustainable internet ecosystem where AIs can thrive while respecting content ownership. This innovation supports a future where AI enhances human progress without compromising the integrity of the web.

The €3 million funding round is led by Seedcamp, with participation from Axeleo Capital, Motier Ventures, Financière Saint James, OPRTRS Club, Kima Ventures, and business angels from the AI and media industries. These investors bring deep expertise and a shared vision for the future of AI-driven web navigation.

“The Internet was originally built for people to access information, but soon, AI agents will be doing this on our behalf,” says Philippe Mizrahi, co-founder and CEO of Linkup. “That shift means we need to rethink how the web works — creating an ecosystem where these agents can navigate efficiently and, importantly, where content providers are fairly compensated. At Linkup, ethics are at the core of the technology, because the future of AI must be sustainable for all involved.”

This funding will accelerate technology development, expand the technical team with Machine Learning experts and Software Engineers, and further build key partnerships with content publishers and data providers.
