Metaforms has raised $9 million in Series A funding to expand its AI infrastructure platform, addressing long-standing inefficiencies in the $130 billion global research industry. The funding round was led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), with continued backing from Nexus Venture Partners and Together Fund. This brings total funding to just over $10 million.
Designed to help market research agencies scale operations without sacrificing quality or burning out teams, Metaforms provides AI agents that automate time-consuming tasks such as survey coding, panel coordination, data validation, and quota tracking. These tools embed into existing workflows, enhancing productivity rather than replacing domain expertise.
Outdated systems and growing client demands have led many agencies to turn down work. Metaforms addresses this bottleneck by enabling faster turnarounds and greater capacity. Survey creation, which once took days of manual effort, is now significantly accelerated — reducing operational costs and increasing accessibility.
Founded in 2022 by Akshat Tyagi and Arjun S, the company was created in response to challenges faced in obtaining market research support as early-stage founders. By focusing on automating repetitive tasks, Metaforms allows teams to prioritize analysis and strategic decision-making.
“Our goal is simple: help great research teams spend less time firefighting and more time doing the work that actually matters,” said Akshat Tyagi, Co-founder and CEO. “When you automate the grunt work, you make high-quality research more accessible to more companies.”
Since its commercial launch six months ago, Metaforms has secured four of the top twenty global research agencies as clients, including Strat7. The platform now processes over 1,000 surveys monthly and maintains a 100% expansion rate among initial customers.
Customers report significant ROI, improved efficiency, and expanded client capacity as a result of Metaforms’ platform.
Looking forward, Metaforms intends to triple its team size, expand into areas such as voice-based research and automated report generation, and enhance language capabilities. The company’s long-term ambition is to process more than 100,000 surveys annually, making enterprise-grade research accessible to organizations of all sizes.
“When research agencies grow, better business decisions get made,” said Akshat Tyagi. “We’re not here to replace the humans in the loop. We’re here to give them leverage.”
