Pixel-Flo, a University of Sheffield spin-out developing mass transfer technology for MicroLED display manufacturing, has raised £5.25 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from SCVC, Parkwalk Northern Universities Venture Fund, and HTGF. The investment will support industrial scale-up, team expansion, and international growth.
Scaling MicroLED Manufacturing
Pixel-Flo is commercializing its proprietary Continuous-Flo™ Mass Transfer technology, designed to overcome one of the biggest barriers to large-scale MicroLED production. The company's fluidic self-assembly process offers a more scalable and cost-efficient alternative to conventional mechanical transfer methods, helping reduce manufacturing costs while enabling wider adoption of brighter and more energy-efficient MicroLED displays across consumer devices.
Growth Plans
The funding will help demonstrate the technology on commercial coating systems, strengthen partnerships with display manufacturers, and support expansion into key global markets. Pixel-Flo has also expanded its international presence with the appointment of a Taiwan-based Vice President of Business Development to drive customer engagement in Asia.
