Resurrect Bio, a biotechnology company developing plant disease resistance solutions and AI-powered crop protection technologies, announced the completion of an oversubscribed $10.3 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Corteva Agriscience, with participation from Calculus Capital, Pymwymic, UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S), SynBioVen, and AgFunder.
The funding will support the expansion of the company’s in-house crop protection traits and further development of its FloraFold® AI platform.
Expanding AI-Driven Crop Protection
Resurrect Bio is focused on developing disease-resistant crop traits and collaborating with seed companies to improve agricultural resilience and productivity.
“With this financing round complete, we've already started ramping up production of our in-house crop protection traits and taking our computational protein-protein interaction screening tool, FloraFold® AI, to the next level,” the company stated.
The company is also expanding collaboration opportunities with food companies, seed developers, and plant breeders.
Strengthening Industry Partnerships
Resurrect Bio recently announced a partnership with Corteva Agriscience focused on corn crop development and indicated that additional partnerships will be announced in the near future.
The company stated that the latest funding round strengthens its ability to accelerate scientific development and scale commercial collaborations in the agricultural biotechnology sector.
