Saepio, a leading cybersecurity services and solutions provider, announced the acquisition of offensive security firm Ruptura. The acquisition expands Saepio’s capabilities in resilience testing through the integration of Ruptura’s penetration testing expertise into the service portfolio.
The move follows a successful collaboration in which Ruptura conducted penetration tests for Saepio’s clients, verifying the strength of security recommendations. Tom Heenan, Founder and Managing Director of Ruptura, will continue leading penetration testing operations as Director of Offensive Security at Saepio.
Daniel Cardenas-Clark, co-CEO of Saepio, says, “Ruptura’s team is highly-skilled and our clients have continually been delighted with their work. We are really excited to have the opportunity to bring these capabilities in-house. Ultimately, we are securing our clients’ most critical assets – their systems and their data – and this acquisition enables us to do that even more effectively.”
The acquisition highlights increasing demand for Saepio’s expertise as organisations face escalating and complex cyber threats. The UK currently experiences around four nationally significant cyberattacks weekly, alongside growing regulatory and compliance pressures.
Amir Nooriala, co-CEO of Saepio, says, “The timing of this acquisition is excellent. We will expand the penetration testing business, and offer additional offensive security services to match the needs of our clients and fulfil our ambition of becoming the largest independent cyber security provider in the UK and Europe. Our clients face an evolving set of cyber challenges, and we are on a mission to help them solve as many as possible. Additionally, Saepio is committed to maintaining the high quality of work that Ruptura’s clients have come to expect.”
Ruptura’s penetration testing expertise has earned global recognition, with first-place rankings in the UK and top global placements in the 2023 and 2024 Hack the Box Capture the Flag competitions.
The acquisition also adds Ruptura’s Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus solutions, including certification body status under the UK government framework, to Saepio’s service offering. “The expertise that Ruptura has in these frameworks fits well with Saepio’s cyber resilience consulting practice and enables us to offer a fully-integrated compliance and governance solution,” says Cardenas-Clark.
Saepio’s portfolio now includes the recently launched Managed GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) service, which automates monitoring, provides real-time compliance visibility, reduces audit preparation time, and centralizes policy and control management in one dashboard. “Too often organisations are relying on a tangled mess of spreadsheets and manual tracking to keep up with regulatory and security frameworks. Saepio’s M-GRC service removes the spreadsheet fatigue and lets organisations focus on what they do best,” says Cardenas-Clark.
