SageOx, an AI infrastructure startup building shared context systems for AI-native teams, announced a $15 million seed round led by Canaan, with participation from A.Capital, Pioneer Square Labs, and Founders' Co-op.
The funding will support continued product development and selective hiring as the company expands infrastructure designed to improve collaboration between human teams and AI agents.
Building Shared Context for AI Workflows
SageOx addresses a growing challenge in AI-native organizations, where AI agents operate without persistent awareness of prior decisions, workflows, or project context. The platform captures information across conversations, coding sessions, and enterprise tools, converting it into structured knowledge shared across AI systems and teams.
The company aims to create continuously aligned workflows in which decisions, architectural intent, and operational history remain accessible across both human and AI collaborators.
“As an in-person team, a lot of our best decisions happen in conversation. Before SageOx, our agents weren't part of that; they felt remote. We had to constantly recap decisions, and things would get lost. Now SageOx keeps them in the loop automatically. Conversations turn into output in minutes. It's fundamentally changed how we build — less translation, more collaboration,” said Marius Ciocirlan, CEO at Mark OS.
AI-Native Infrastructure Layer
SageOx positions its platform as a foundational infrastructure layer for AI-native work environments, similar to how cloud infrastructure transformed software development. The system enables AI agents to maintain continuity across tasks and generate outputs aligned with evolving team standards and objectives.
“We're at the beginning of a fundamental shift in how knowledge work gets done, where teams increasingly operate as a combination of humans and AI agents. Every major shift like this creates a new systems layer, and in this case, that layer is context. SageOx is building that foundation, and we believe it has the potential to become core infrastructure for this new era of AI-native work,” said Kumar Sreekanti, Venture Partner at Canaan.
“As teams begin operating at multiples of their traditional speed, in some cases 20x to 40x faster, their existing processes break down, and the ability to share decisions, intent, and history across humans and agents becomes critical infrastructure,” said Ajit Banerjee, Founder and CEO of SageOx.
Founding Team and Growth Plans
The company was founded by former infrastructure and systems leaders from Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Remitly, and Hugging Face. SageOx plans to remain lean while expanding its platform with agentic workflows and broader enterprise capabilities.
